Highlight the work of as many French and foreign artists as possible around the world. For that, we work hard!
THE CREATION OF THE BOOK
We work exclusively with the Adobe InDesign software (because it is the best!). We carry out the entire layout of all our books in accordance with the Artist’s wishes. YOUR project remains YOUR project!
The cover of a book is essential. It shows the quality of a work and its creation is not within everyone’s reach. We therefore work with designers and artists from around the world to bring the book to life. We listen to the artist and their wishes and offer creative and innovative ideas.
CORRECTIONS AND PROOFREADING
Spelling mistakes are our foes. And since we do not wish to sell you a book that offends the sensitivity of your eyes, we work with qualified individuals who proofread several times to correct all spelling, grammar, and style errors as well as typographical rules. Whether in English or in French!
We collaborate with people outside the project in order to have an objective correction and opinion on the book. It is difficult to detach oneself from one’s work when one has been immersed in it all day. We exchange, critique, and discuss so as to achieve a relevant project.
THE IMPRESSION
Once the book is precisely measured to the millimetre, we begin printing. The book is also a work of art. We discuss and choose the best aesthetic, technical, and economical solutions for the project. Many formats are possible, and we select one according to the book.
We place great importance on the quality of the finished book. We adapt the type of paper according to the project (book with photographs, book with drawings, black and white book, full-colour book...) as well as the book’s finishing (sewn binding, headband, ribbon...). When you open the book, we want to hear you say: WOW!
TRANSLATION
We work in two languages: French and English. Publishing the book in several languages allows us to reach a wider audience. The goal is for magicians around the world to have access to our creations and thus discover the artists we collaborate with!
DISTRIBUTION
Before publication, we take care of all the administrative paperwork. We obtain an ISBN (International Standard Book Number) and handle the legal deposit. The legal deposit at the BnF is organised to allow the collection and preservation of books and all other documents published, imported, or distributed in France. Depositing these documents helps to build a reference collection accessible in the research library rooms. It also enables the establishment and dissemination of the French national bibliography. In short, all this to say it is important, so we do it!
THE GREEN PRINTING HOUSE
We belong to the generation that has become aware that we will probably no longer be able to drink through a straw. And that is truly sad! Because we share the same passion for books as for nature, we have committed ourselves to acting in respect of the environment and we implement means that are both economically and ecologically responsible.
We work with a printing partner who shares our values. All of their workshops hold certifications including Imprim’Vert, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
These marks, recognised by all stakeholders in the graphic industries, express a shared commitment to reducing the environmental impacts linked to printing activities.
