#2 - The Monkey Journal
And here we are again! Here is the second newsletter of the Journal des Monkeys! We hope you enjoyed the first email!
Good news, Florian's plane landed without too much difficulty at Charles de Gaulle and he is well and truly back in Auvergne! Well, let's be honest, he is still fighting jet lag! By the way, if some of you are tempted to go for a trip to Peru, don't hesitate to ask him for advice. (info@3monkeys-publishing.com ). But don't worry, we won't spam you with endless emails! We know very well that receiving 15 emails a day advertising the latest revolutionary gimmick is quite annoying! In this newsletter, nothing to see. It will only contain news from the life of the Monkeys and nothing more! Besides, if you want us to address specific points in these emails ( our working methods, the way we produce our books, the way we select our projects... ), do not hesitate to share your ideas and desires with us by email: info@3monkeys-publishing.com
Oh yeah! Did we tell you about Camille? Our designer? He's also back in France! Camille works for Airbus and he was on a business trip the last two weeks in Germany. Don't worry, he didn't spend his time drinking beers (oh how we love Germany for that...!). Despite his busy schedule, he worked hard and finished all the designs for our project that will be released at the end of October. And I must say that they are really beautiful. We can't wait to share this project with you!
Speaking of which, we have to talk about our latest idea: The NEXT PROJECT! You must have received a newsletter explaining in detail what this project means. In short, it allows you to buy our projects in advance at a preferential rate (-20% on the final sale price). On our side, this allows us to finance part of the project before its release and you benefit from it by purchasing it at a reduced price. Everyone is a winner! The only downside: you do not know the author or the content of the project, only its general theme and the nationality of the artist. Tell us what you think of this idea by return email. To get back to our sheep, the NEXT PROJECT for the project that will see the light of day in October is available! End of Ad.
Between preparing for the Private Magic Days that are fast approaching, and the next project planned for the end of September, Thomas still found time to have new ideas with his cards. We all know the Invisible Palming trick. A version exists where the 4 original cards change value at the end of the effect. For example, if you do your demonstration with kings, they turn into Aces. This effect lacks logic and spectators might wonder: “but where did the kings go?”
So Thomas had this idea: start with the four kings appearing, continue with an invisible palming routine that turns the kings into aces, and finish by revealing that the four kings are now face up in the middle of the deck. And here's a video to illustrate this rather interesting little idea!
On 07/30/2022, Markobi became the world champion of Card Magic! A feat worthy of the name for this Alsatian magician! We remember it very well, we met Markobi at the FFAP congress in Mandelieu in 2018 and we spent a well-watered evening in his company! From his first seconds on the stage of the convention center dressed in a bathrobe, we immediately knew that this gentleman was going to become important in the history of card magic. A style all his own that finally paid off at the World Championships in QUEBEC. On 09/07/2022, we were able to discover the video of his FISM appearance.
We'll let you enjoy this sweet mix of Lennart Green, Dani Da Ortiz and Chad Long! Congratulations again to you Marko for this feat! We are proud to have been there for your first moments in the championship and wish you the best for the rest of your career which promises to be long! And you, what did you think of his number?
To end this newsletter, no black cat has come to disrupt our next project which will see the light of day at the end of September. We promised you a new adventure and it will be! Unless this newsletter brings us bad luck, everything should be fine by then!
We say “see you next time”, hoping that Florian has recovered from his jet lag!
See you soon friends!
