You remove the two black Kings from the deck and set them aside. A card is selected by the spectator, memorized, and returned to the deck (let’s say it’s the 10 of Hearts). The selected card is turned face up, and the two black Kings are inserted face down into the middle of the deck, sticking out halfway. As you spread the cards between your hands, it’s clear that nothing is between the two Kings.

The deck is flipped face down, the Kings are aligned with the rest of the cards, and you ribbon spread the deck on the table, showing one last time that the two Kings are in the middle with nothing between them.

You close the spread and perform a magical pass over the deck. When you spread the cards again on the table, a single face-down card has appeared between the two black Kings. These three cards are removed from the spread, and the face-down card is turned over: it’s the 10 of Hearts.

You then take the two black Kings and rub them against the 10 of Hearts. When you flip the Kings over, they have transformed into two more 10s! Finally, with a magical gesture from the deck toward the card case, you invite the spectator to open the case and remove the final 10.
